-The Blend-
The agency also is working to transform Eastland Shopping Center into a major regional power center. The retail mix will include major anchors such as warehouse retailers, restaurants, and entertainment - the kind of place where people go to spend time and money.
Located directly along Interstate 10, Eastland is anchored by Mervyn's, Marshalls, Ross Dress for Less, and Sportmart. These major anchors have proven successful in drawing customers and increasing retail traffic during the last decade.
To take advantage of current market trends, Eastland is renovating and restructuring. The relocation of May Company to The Plaza has created room for new retail outlets to take advantage of West Covina's red hot retail growth.
Pads around the 57 acre site will be available for other anchor-size users.
Retail sales at Eastland, now at $69 million, are expected to soar to $200 million annually.
Freeway exposure is also a key feature of the West Covina Auto Plaza. With eight dealership sites, all fronting on the I-10, the West Covina Auto Plaza is considering an expansion in the 90s.
