A recent poll of residents and community leaders indicates a strong demand for high-end specialty shops and department stores, toy stores, book stores, children's wear outlets, home improvement warehouses, home electronics and computer chains, high volume furniture stores, quality supermarkets, and other big box users.

The city is currently under served and needs more movie theaters and restaurants to meet the needs of residents who say they would rather stay in West Covina for entertainment than travel to other communities.
