Hong Kong Plaza is constructing the newer concept grocery tenant HK2 that will occupy the former Hong Kong market space of 29,214 square feet.

• 9/2009: Project is currently in the entitlement stage of development.

• 11/2009: The HK2 market has received the necessary entitlements and has commenced the interior improvements.

• 12/2009: HK2 is nearing completion for its interior improvements, currently finishing the interior racking system.

• 1/2010: On Saturday January 9, 2010 HK2 Food District held its grand opening ceremony.

• 5/2011: Yum Cha Café opened for business on May 14, 2011 inside of the HK2 Food District, serving an assortment of dim sum and barbeque entrees.

• 8/2011: Tao Martial Arts opened on August 19, 2011, offering tae kwon do lessons to students of all levels.

• 10/2011: Fujin Ramen and Jasmin Garden opened for business. Fujin Ramen, offers a variety of noodle types, which can be paired with three distinct types of ramen: Hokkaido, Nagasaki, and Taiwanese (1017 S. Glendora Avenue). Jasmin Garden serves traditional northern Chinese cuisine made of the freshest ingredients and cooked to order (987 S. Glendora Avenu).

• 11/2011: Rich's Shrimp Shack and Tropical Shave Ice, both popular food trucks, opened their brick and mortar restaurant, making West Covina home to the perfect combination of authentic Hawaiian food and shave ice on November 5, 2011. (1001 S. Glendora Avenue)
