MISSION STATEMENT:
Provide the community with information about City activities and issues through Channel 56, Discover West Covina, the Web Site and local media outlets.
Department Budget Information
FY 2001/2002 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Cable Programming remained at approximately fourteen to eighteen hours a day.
- Expanded diversity of programming. Covered children and teen events, Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, concerts in the park, and commission meetings.
- Hired three cable production assistants.
- Redesigned the City's website, which now averages 288,333 website hits per month.
- Hired an administrative aide to print twelve editions of "Discover West Covina" in-house, at significant cost savings to the City compared to prior contractors.
FY 2002/2003 ISSUES
- Complete the Cable Channel Franchise renewal negotiations.
- Identify new opportunities to provide additional information on website and make the web page more user-friendly to the public.
