Fire Prevention Bureau

The West Covina Fire Department is actively involved in Fire Prevention and Community Enhancement within the city. The Fire Prevention Bureau staffs two persons who conduct plans review, issue permits, inspect buildings and assist fire companies with their inspections.

The bureau coordinates closely with the City's building and planning departments as well as allied agencies such as the State Fire Marshal's Office.

Bureau personnel also conduct plans review for all new and remodeled construction occurring in the city. Additionally, all fire companies conduct routine fire code inspections and issue notices to correct fire hazards.
