CROSSING GUARD
Limited Services/Part-time
Currently available are substitute positions AND regularly scheduled positions that work approximately 20 hours per week during the school year. This is a part-time position with no benefits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Escort school children across streets
• Stops traffic by displaying warning sign when children are crossing streets
• Maintains control of children and communicates good safety habits
• Obtains license numbers of vehicles violating pedestrians right-of-way and submits this information to the Police Department

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A verifiable work record of one or more year's responsible experience in a position working with the public is desirable. Requires ability to stand and walk limited distances for periods of approximately two hours at a time in varying types of weather.

EXAMINATION
The examination process will consist of an oral interview. Prior to hire, applicants must successfully complete a background check and medical exam.

FINAL FILING DATE
City Application required. Open until filled.

Qualified candidates will be notified at a later date for the time and place of the examination. Under the City's examination procedure, failure on any part of the announced examination will be grounds for disqualification of an applicant. City application is required. Postmarks will not be accepted. Applicants requiring special accommodations for testing must notify the Human Resources Department prior to test administration consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
