CABLE TELEVISION PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

DUTIES

• Assists the Cable Television Producer in municipal video production.
• Uses modern broadcast equipment, sets up cameras for multi-camera taping.
• Assists in shooting, writing, editing, producing, directing, and post-production work for cablecasting.
• Needs to be technically proficient to trouble shoot.
• Drives City vehicles from one location to another in carrying out assignments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Sophomore college status or above. Academic course study in radio/television, teleproduction, communications, or related field is required. Experience in lieu of course study will be considered. Applicant must have working knowledge of camera, tripod, and lighting techniques, use of 3/4" editing system, and the ability to scriptwrite. A California Driver's License is required. Prior to hire, applicants will be required to pass a physical examination.

The position may also qualify for academic course credit.

Acceptable applicants will be tested on basic and intermediate field production skills.
