Crossing Guard
(Limited Service/Part-time)
Approximately 20 hours per week during school year.

Substitute positions are currently available with the possibility of obtaining a regularly scheduled position later.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Escort school children across streets
• Stops traffic by displaying warning sign when children are crossing streets
• Maintains control of children and communicates good safety habits
• Obtains license numbers of vehicles violating pedestrians right-of-way and submits this information to the Police Department

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
A verifiable work record of one or more year's responsible experience in a position working with the public is desirable. Requires ability to stand and walk limited distances for periods of approximately two hours at a time in varying types of weather.

EXAMINATION
The examination process will consist of an oral interview. Prior to hire, applicants must successfully complete a medical exam.
