PLANNING INTERN (Community Development Commission)
This is a part-time position without benefits that works up to 30 hours a week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
College freshman status or above and current enrollment in Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, Public Policy/Management and Planning, Finance/Real Estate and Law, or other closely related field. Competency in computer word processing and spreadsheets (preferably Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access). Valid California Driver's License required.
DUTIES
Under direction prepare graphic materials for presentations and reports; assist in the collection and tabulation of land use, economic and demographic data using computer generated information; conduct field work analysis; assist in the maintenance and development of computer databases; initiate and maintain contact with the public on project related assignments and programs; monitor redevelopment, economic development or housing projects and programs; and perform special assignments and related routine work as assigned.
SELECTION PROCESS
Candidates meeting the minimum requirements will have their
qualifications screened and those candidates deemed most qualified
will be invited to participate in a oral interview. Candidates may also be
required to bring samples of their written and graphic work to the interview.
FINAL FILING DATE
Applications will be accepted on a CONTINUOUS basis or until filled.
Apply to the City of West Covina Human Resources Department. A City application is required. Qualified candidates will be notified at a later date regarding the time and place of the examination.
Under the City's examination procedure, failure on any part of the announced examination will be grounds for disqualification of an applicant.
Applicants requiring special accommodations for testing must notify the Human Resources Department prior to test administration consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Prior to the first day of employment, selected candidates will be required to pass a physical exam.
