M I N U T E S

REGULAR MEETING OF THE

WEST COVINA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION

November 20, 2007

 

Chairman Touhey called to order the regular meeting of the Community Development Commission at 9:50 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 1444 W. Garvey Avenue, West Covina.

 

ROLL CALL Chairman Touhey, Vice Chairman Lane

Commissioners Herfert, Hernandez, Sanderson

Others Present: Pasmant, Alvarez-Glasman, Fields, Bachman, Chung, Freeland, Rush

 

CONSENT CALENDAR Request for Additional Funding by East San Gabriel Regional Occupation Program (ROP)

Recommendation is that the Community Development Commission (CDC) authorize the Executive Director to negotiate and execute an amendment to the Educational Services Agreement with the East San Gabriel Regional Occupational Program ("ROP") authorizing the CDC to pay for extraordinary project costs related to electrical utilities currently estimated at $47,500.

Motion by Lane and seconded by Herfert to approve the consent calendar item.

Councilmember Hernandez inquired as to what the extraordinary project costs where that required the additional funding.

Community Development Commissioner Director Chung responded that the costs were for unanticipated utility costs. Dottie Misetic, East San Gabriel Valley ROP, further explained the cost.

Councilmember Herfert stated that due to his employment by Southern California Edison he would abstain from voting.

CONSENT CALENDAR ACTION Motion carried by the following roll call

AYES: Hernandez, Lane, Sanderson, Touhey

NOES: None

ABSTAIN: Herfert

 

ADJOURNMENT Motion by Sanderson and seconded by Lane to adjourn the meeting at 9:55 p.m. Motion carried 5-0.
