Department Budget Information
 The Planning Department is primarily involved with current planning matters, processing zone changes, precise plan design variances, conditional use permits, general plan amendments, and tentative tract and parcel map cases, as well as preparation of pertinent environmental documents for public hearings before the Planning Commission.
The Department also undertakes special studies requested by the City Council or Planning Commission, identifies and analyzes problems pertaining to land use and zoning and prepares reports and recommendations pertaining to the above.
Planning staff also provides information and advice to the public on zoning matters. The Department performs future planning in an effort to project an orderly and advantageous development of the City. The department also coordinates the activities of the Planning Commission.
