AGENDA

I. REQUEST:

Jerry Graham, West Covina Resident

THAT THE TRAFFIC CONDITIONS ON PACIFIC AVENUE FROM THE NORTHERLY CITY LIMITS TO CAMERON AVENUE BE REVIEWED.

SUMMARY:

The resident has requested that the City review the traffic conditions along Pacific Avenue from the northerly City limits to Cameron Avenue. Staff conducted field, speed, and volume studies to determine the existing conditions.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

THAT THE WIDTH OF THE EXISTING TRAVEL LANES BE REDUCED BY RE-STRIPING THE LANE LINES AND ADDING A RIGHT EDGE STRIPE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE STREET RESURFACING PROJECT.

THAT THE RADAR TRAILER BE UTILIZED TO MAKE DRIVERS AWARE OF THEIR VEHICLE SPEED ALONG PACIFIC AVENUE FROM THE NORTHERLY CITY LIMITS TO CAMERON AVENUE.

THAT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT INCREASE SPEED AND TRUCK ROUTE ENFORCEMENT AND CONDUCT VEHICLE LANE INSPECTIONS TARGETING OVERWEIGHT VEHICLES WHEN FEASIBLE.


II. REQUEST:

Felicidad McIntosh, West Covina Resident

THAT NO PARKING ON TRASH PICK-UP DAYS BE IMPLEMENTED ON BANDY AVENUE FROM WALNUT CREEK PARKWAY TO SOUTH BANDY AVENUE.

SUMMARY:

In response to a request to prohibit parking to facilitate trash pick-up on Bandy Avenue, a survey of the twelve affected properties was conducted to determine the desires of the affected properties in regards to the implementation of permit only parking. Nine responses were received and all nine are in favor of permit only parking.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

THAT NO PARKING ON TRASH PICK-UP DAYS BE IMPLEMENTED ON BANDY AVENUE FROM WALNUT CREEK PARKWAY TO SOUTH BANDY AVENUE.

III. REQUEST:

Marilyn Jensen, West Covina Resident

THAT PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF MERCED AVENUE FROM 2307 WEST MERCED AVENUE TO WILLOW AVENUE BE RESTRICTED TO PERMIT ONLY PARKING.

SUMMARY:

Due to complaints regarding increased parking problems caused by the apartment complex across the street, a survey of the seven affected properties was conducted to determine the desires of the affected properties in regards to the implementation of permit only parking. Four responses were received and all four are in favor of permit only parking.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

THAT PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF MERCED AVENUE FROM 2307 WEST MERCED AVENUE TO WILLOW AVENUE BE RESTRICTED TO PERMIT ONLY PARKING.
