AGENDA
I. REQUEST:

THAT MULTI-WAY STOP SIGNS BE INSTALLED AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF HILLSIDE DRIVE AND MT. TRICIA AVENUE, HILLSIDE DRIVE AND ROLLING HILLS DRIVE, AND HILLSIDE DRIVE AND FAIRWAY KNOLLS ROAD.

SUMMARY:

The residents are concerned with the possible unsafe conditions caused by vehicle speed and restrictive sight distance on Hillside Drive. Staff reviewed traffic conditions and conducted volume and speed studies for each intersection. Studies show that the sight distance of the vehicles approaching the intersection was not restricted and the vehicles were driving within the posted speed limit.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

THAT STOP SIGNS (R1) BE INSTALLED ON THE SOUTHBOUND APPROACHES OF FAIRWAY KNOLLS ROAD AT HILLSIDE DRIVE.

THAT A W56 SIGN (DOUBLE HEAD ARROW) BE INSTALLED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF HILLSIDE DRIVE AT FAIRWAY KNOLLS ROAD AND ROLLING HILLS DRIVE.

THAT "WATCH DOWNHILL SPEED" SIGN (SW 4-1) BE INSTALLED EASTBOUND HILLSIDE DRIVE EAST OF FAIRWAY KNOLLS ROAD.

II. REQUEST:

THAT NO PARKING ON STREET SWEEPING DAYS BE IMPLEMENTED ON MAUREEN STREET FROM MANU LANE TO MAGDALENA DRIVE.

SUMMARY:

In response to a request to prohibit parking to facilitate street sweeping on Maureen Street, a survey of the 45 affected properties was conducted. Twenty-three (51%) of the properties are in favor of prohibiting parking on the first and third Fridays of each month from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., seven of the properties are not in favor, and 15 of the properties did not reply to the survey.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

THAT NO PARKING ON STREET SWEEPING DAYS BE IMPLEMENTED ON MAUREEN STREET FROM MANU LANE TO MAGDALENA DRIVE.
