AGENDA
I. REQUEST:

Ilene Jackson, West Covina Resident

THAT PARKING ON WESTPORT STREET AND GREENLEAF DRIVE FROM 2605 ALTAMIRA DRIVE TO 1845 GREENLEAF DRIVE BE RESTRICTED TO PERMIT ONLY PARKING.

SUMMARY:

In response to a request to restrict parking to permit only on Westport Street and Greenleaf Drive from 2605 Altamira Drive to 1845 Greenleaf Drive, a postcard survey of the 25 affected properties was conducted. Seventeen responses were received with fourteen (56%) of the properties in favor of the permit only parking, three against it and eight not responding to the survey.

RECOMMENDATION:

THAT PARKING ON WESTPORT STREET AND GREENLEAF DRIVE FROM 2605 ALTAMIRA DRIVE TO 1845 GREENLEAF DRIVE BE RESTRICTED TO PERMIT ONLY PARKING.

II. REQUEST:

Dorothy Wilson, West Covina Resident

THAT A MULTI-WAY STOP SIGN BE INSTALLED AT THE INTERSECTION OF DELVALE STREET AT LANG AVENUE.

SUMMARY:

The primary concerns of the requester are that the vehicle speeds on Delvale Street are unsafe, and that vehicles entering from Lang Avenue do not yield to the west and eastbound traffic on Delvale Street. There is no stop control on southbound Lang Avenue. The installation of stop control on southbound Lang Avenue would require southbound vehicles to stop and then proceed when safe, thus minimizing driver conflict. The installations of single stop signs are at the discretion of the local agency

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

THAT A STOP SIGN, STOP AHEAD SIGN, AND APPROPRIATE PAVEMENT MESSAGES BE INSTALLED ON SOUTHBOUND LANG AVENUE AT DELVALE STREET.

III. REQUEST:

Corina Vasquez, West Covina Resident Norma Velasquez, West Covina Resident

THAT TRAFFIC CONDITIONS AND VEHICLE SPEEDS BE REVIEWED ALONG WORKMAN AVENUE BETWEEN AZUSA AVENUE AND LARK ELLEN AVENUE.

SUMMARY:

The primary concern of the requester is the danger upon entering Workman Avenue from northbound Homerest Avenue because of the vehicle speeds on Workman Avenue. The stop sign warrant evaluation for the intersection of Workman Avenue and Homerest Avenue shows that none of the warrants for a multi-way stop sign are met.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION:

THAT THE INSTALLATION OF MULTI-WAY STOP SIGN IS NOT WARRANTED FOR THE INTERSECTION OF WORKMAN AVENUE AND HOMEREST AVENUE AT THIS TIME.

THAT ADDITIONAL SPEED LIMIT (R2-4) SIGNS WITH "RADAR ENFORCED" PLATE BE INSTALLED ALONG WORKMAN AVENUE.
