The City of West Covina will be celebrating Earth Day 2010 on Saturday, April 24th, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. This grant-funded family event will be held at Galster Wilderness Park located at 1620 Aroma Drive, West Covina.

Visit the YMCA Healthy Kids Zone with crafts, entertainment, workshops, and archery demonstrations. Suburban Water Systems will be providing free conservation kits to the first 500 water customers. This kit consists of a low flow showerhead, sink aerators and several other water saving items. Enjoy various Earth Day crafts reusing materials to make something new.

Take a guided hike through Galster Park and experience some of nature's beauty up close. Learn about environmental programs in your city and receive Earth Day prizes and giveaways. Meet community favorites like "Bob" from Bob's Big Boy and "Red" from Red Robin.

"In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, the City of West Covina is thrilled to be hosting this year's event at Galster Wilderness Park in conjunction with Arbor Day, exclaims Mayor Shelley Sanderson, "We encourage residents to bring their families out for a day in the park, enjoy the many activities we have planned and relax in one of the City's premier locations.
