More Residential Street Improvements In West Covina

Thirty-two segments of various residential streets are scheduled to be
re-paved beginning this month.  The project consists of grinding down two inches of existing asphalt concrete pavement and installing an asphalt concrete overlay, repairing damaged curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and the construction of wheelchair ramps.

The street sections were selected based on the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) with the streets in the worst condition being given priority. The total length of the project is approximately four miles and is scheduled to be completed by September 2010.

The project is completely grant funded from Community Block Development Grant and State Proposition 42 funds.  No City General Funds will be used.  Visit the City's Web Site to see a listing of the streets and related maps at www.westcovina.org/cityhall/pw/engineering/projects.
