Roominghouses in Residential Zones
This ordinance was introduced at the City Council meeting of November 7, 2006. This ordinance would require a Conditional Use Permit whenever there are more than two individual renters at a specific residence. This requirement would apply to all residential zones and any residential dwelling not licensed by the state or not protected by the Fair Housing Act. This ordinance will become effective 30 days after adoption, December 21, 2006.

  2. Appropriate $70,000 from the Public Education Government (PEG) Fund to account 205.11.1130.7160.

d) Purchase of Nine (9) Zoll Cardiac Monitor/Defibrillators to Fulfill a Los Angeles County Department of Health Services Mandate
It is recommended that the City Council take the following actions:

  1. Approve the Fire Department's request to waive the formal contract procedure and award the purchase of nine (9) ZOLL, Series E, EKG monitor/defibrillators to ZOLL Medical Corporation. The total cost for the purchase is $141,966.25, which includes sales tax. The pricing is consistent with the contract price established by Los Angeles County on their formal bid and Contract No. 41877 with the purchasing deadline prior to December 31, 2006.

  2. Appropriate $141,966.25 from the General Fund Reserve to Account No. 110.32.3220.7160 to purchase the nine defibrillators.
