February 20, 2007 City Council meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
WEST COVINA, CA - Today, February 15, 2007, the West Covina City Council was notified that the California Transportation Commission (CTC) will be conducting a hearing on February 20, 2007 in Sacramento to discuss the funding of various State of California transportation projects under the recently voter approved bond measures.
For the past several months, the City of West Covina, along with the other San Gabriel Valley cities have led efforts to secure funding for the San Gabriel Valley's fair share of transportation funds, including the construction of carpool lanes along Interstate 10 from the 605/10 Interchange to the 57/10 Interchange.
In addition, the City of West Covina has also led the effort to include the much-needed improvements to the 605/10 Interchange to reduce traffic congestion and promote air quality for the region.
Both of these projects are important to the City of West Covina and a delegation from the West Covina City Council will be attending the CTC hearing to express the importance of this project to the residents of West Covina and the region.
Due to the delegation's attendance at the CTC hearing, the Tuesday, February 20, 2007 City Council meeting has been rescheduled to Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 7:00 PM.
