NOTICE OF TOWN HALL MEETING
BKK LANDFILL FINAL CLOSURE CERTIFICATION PLAN
WEST COVINA, CA - The Waste Management Enforcement Agency for the City of West Covina will be conducting a town hall meeting on Thursday, December 6, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers to provide the public an opportunity to meet with the three responsible agencies and ask questions they may have on the October 2007 BKK Class III Landfill Certification of Closure Report. In addition, the Department of Toxic Substance Control will be in attendance to answer questions related to the Class I (Hazardous Waste) landfill operations.

The October 2007 Certification of Closure Report for the BKK Class III Landfill located at 2210 South Azusa Avenue, West Covina, California, has been submitted by the BKK Corporation to the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB), Waste Management Enforcement Agency for the City of West Covina (WMEA), and the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) - Los Angeles Region for their collective review and approval.

The purpose of this report is to certify that the Class III municipal solid waste landfill has been closed in accordance with the approved revised final closure plan and meets the minimum Title 27 California Code of Regulations.

Once the Certification of Closure Report has been approved by the CIWMB, WMEA, and RWQCB, the landfill will be considered closed and post closure maintenance will begin.
