CITY & NAACP CELEBRATES MLK BIRTHDAY
WEST COVINA, CA - The City of West Covina and the San Gabriel Valley branch of the NAACP will co-sponsor the 9th Annual West Covina Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday Celebration on Monday, January 21, 2008, at The Lakes Entertainment Center, 1200 Lakes Drive in West Covina.

The FREE festivities will begin at 11:00am including a keynote speaker; entertainment; dancers; outdoor games; activities for children; and vendors (offering food, arts & crafts, clothing, jewelry, and more) until 3:30pm.

Mayor Sheri Lane commented, "The City of West Covina is honored to be a part of this significant celebration honoring Dr. King. I hope residents will come out to enjoy this free event for all ages." It is anticipated, as in past years, that about 1,500 people will attend.
