FIRE AT SAN JOSE EDISON SCHOOL LOCATION: 2000 BLOCK OF W. ALWOOD AVENUE
WEST COVINA, CA - On January 10, 2008, The West Covina Fire Department responded to a single-story school fire in the City of West Covina. (San Jose Edison School).

The first unit arrived within five minutes and reported heavy fire and smoke coming from a school complex and ordered a second alarm.

Forty-one (41) firefighters from the West Covina Fire Department and Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the incident.

It took forty minutes to bring the fire under control.

Damages to structures and contents are estimated at $1.5 million dollars.

The fire is believed to be suspicious in nature and is being investigated by the West Covina Police and Fire Departments.

There were no reported injuries from the incident.

Students activities were not held in the structures affected by the fire and classes at San Jose Edison School will remain on schedule.
