GRAND OPENING OF TARGET STORE AT THE HEIGHTS COMMERCIAL/RETAIL CENTER
WEST COVINA, CA - Target Corporation, the City of West Covina, and the West Covina Community Development Commission ("CDC") and West Covina Heights ("Developer") are pleased to announce the Grand Opening of Target at The Heights shopping center located at 2370 South Azusa Avenue in West Covina, California. Target will be hosting a private ceremony on March 4, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. with Target representatives and City officials. Target will open their doors to the public on March 5, 2008 and will have a Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the public on Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 8:00 a.m.

The Heights is the commercial/retail center component of the West Covina Sportsplex, a project spearheaded by the City Council to remove blight while simultaneously creating a point of destination within the community. The City Council's vision, which required extensive coordination with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies, has led to the transformation of the former BKK landfill site from a negative impact eyesore into revenue generating asset for the community.

Target will serve as one of most recognizable tenants at The Heights commercial/retail center. Target began its construction of the store in March of 2007 and opened its doors for business on March 5, 2008. The CDC assisted in the development of The Heights commercial center through the purchase and sale of property, as well as entitlement assistance. In addition, the CDC negotiated with the Developer to bring Target in as an anchor tenant at the site.

Target at The Heights is West Covina's second Target store in the City of West Covina. At approximately 141,000 square feet in size, this Target will feature a 9,000 square foot garden center, full service pharmacy, photo shop and print lab, dining area, and food services anchored by Starbucks coffee and Pizza Hut. Target at The Heights will create approximately 250 new jobs.
