GRAND OPENING OF PETSMART AT THE HEIGHTS COMMERCIAL/RETAIL CENTER
WEST COVINA, CA - PetSmart, the City of West Covina, and the West Covina Community Development Commission ("CDC") and West Covina Heights ("Developer") are pleased to announce the Grand Opening of PetSmart at The Heights shopping center located at 2350 South Azusa Avenue in West Covina, California. PetSmart will host its Grand Opening Ceremony on Saturday April 5, 2008 at 8:30 a.m. and will open their doors to the public at 9:00 a.m. PetSmart will provide its shoppers and visitors with a series of festivities and giveaways throughout the day.

The Heights is the commercial/retail center component of the West Covina Sportsplex, a project spearheaded by the City Council to remove blight while simultaneously creating a point of destination within the community. The City Council's vision, which required extensive coordination with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies, has led to the transformation of the former BKK landfill site from a negative impact eyesore into a revenue-generating asset for the community.

PetSmart began its construction of the store in September of 2007 and will open its doors for business on Monday, March 31, 2008 at 9.am. The CDC assisted in the development of The Heights commercial center through the purchase and sale of property, as well as entitlement assistance.

PetSmart at The Heights is approximately 20,000 square feet in size and will include a friendly and knowledgeable staff trained in animal care, animal behavior training consultants, grooming services for pets and a wide variety of pet selection. PetSmart at The Heights has created approximately 30 new jobs.
