"Go West" Route & Time Schedule Changes
Effective September 1, 2008

WEST COVINA, CA - Effective September 1, 2008, 'Go West,' will implement route and schedule changes. In response to community feedback, the City of West Covina has revised the Green Line to partially restore northbound service to Lark Ellen Avenue while continuing to provide service to The Heights at West Covina shopping center and the Big League Dreams Sportsplex on Azusa Avenue. The change to the Green line will also provide new service to Fairgrove Avenue.

In addition, staff is implementing system-wide timetable revisions that are necessary to ensure schedule accuracy and reliability. The revised system schedules may be picked up at City Hall, the West Covina Senior Center, Cameron Community Center, and on the City's transit website (www.westcovina.org/transit).

The route and time changes are the result of ongoing program evaluations conducted by city staff, which resulted in various service enhancement projects, including improvements to shuttle appearance, additional service vehicles to alleviate overcrowding during peak hours, ongoing updates to the City's transit website, additional transit security, and the development of transit marketing materials.

The City of West Covina offers various transit services to the community including the shuttle system 'Go West,' WestCo Dial-A-Ride, bus pass subsidies, and a recreational transit program. The city's transit programs are funded with Proposition A and Proposition C funds, which must be used for public transit purposes.

For more information on route changes, route schedules, or assistance in locating the Go West bus stops visit the City's transit website at www.westcovina.org/transit or call (800) 425-5777. For general information regarding the City's transit programs, contact the City of West Covina Community Services Department at (626) 939-8430.
