The United States Small Business Administration (SBA) has announced National Small Business Week is April 29 - May 5, 2018. To commemorate National Small Business Week, the City of West Covina is delighted to announce that we will be hosting our 3rd Annual West Covina Small Business Week (WCSBW) Program. On behalf of the City, we invite you to join us and support our local small businesses and entrepreneurs, and celebrate the big contributions they make to our community.
To recognize business’s success and commitment to the community, the City is seeking nominations to honor four local small businesses that have contributed to the community during the 2nd annual WCSBW Awards Ceremony.
The WCSBW Program will include an Awards Ceremony on Monday, presentations on Monday and Wednesday, and will conclude with a mixer hosted by GWC on Thursday. For more information please see below.

The City will once again partner with U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Small Business Development Center (SBDC) located at University of La Verne and Pasadena City College, SCORE, and Greater West Covina Business Association (GWC) to host this year’s WCSBW.
WCSBW will include the followings events:
- Monday | April 30, 2018 - Award Ceremony & Presentation
- Wednesday | May 2, 2018 - Panel Presentation
- Panel Presentation: "Starting and Refreshing a Business" by SCORE
- Time: 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m
- Location: West Covina City Hall (Council Chambers)
- Thursday | May 3, 2018 - "Dream Big, Start Small" Mixer
Refreshments and snacks will be available at the events. In addition, there will be opportunities to WIN raffle prizes.

WCSBW 2018 Awards
The City will be hosting the award ceremony at this year’s WCSBW. The City will be announcing the four winners at the WCSBW Awards Ceremony on Monday, April 30, 2018. The award categories are below:
- Small Business of the Year Award
This award honors a West Covina small business that has shown growth and/or sustainability of their business and a record of community involvement.
- Women in Business Award
This award honors a West Covina small business owned by a woman that has shown growth and/or sustainability of their business and has been an advocate for women in business.
- Veterans in Business Award
This award honors a West Covina small business owned by a U.S. military veteran that has shown growth and/or sustainability of their business and has been an advocate for the veteran community.
- Innovative Use of Resources Award
This award honors a West Covina small business that has leveraged available business resources to grow their business and ensure success. The awardee will be nominated by the University of La Verne Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
