The Successor Agency of the West Covina Redevelopment (Successor Agency) is responsible for the unwinding operations of the former redevelopment agency, as dictated under the redevelopment elimination legislation (AB 1x26 and AB 1484). The Successor Agency is charged with repaying existing indebtedness, completing performance of existing contractual obligations, and otherwise winding down operations, and preserving agency assets for the benefit of taxing agencies. AB1X26 and AB1484 also required the establishment of an Oversight Board to regulate the actions of the Successor Agency.
Commencing July 1, 2018, the Oversight Board will be consolidated into a single, countywide Oversight Board. The City of West Covina will be part of the Los Angeles County Consolidated Oversight Board First Supervisorial District.
