The West Covina Youth Council was established in October of 1999 and has emerged into a valuable resource and voice for young persons living in West Covina. Not only does the program offer students an opportunity to connect with government, but youth are also exposed and encouraged to participate in community service projects and special events. Making your mark on the world…it is what every young mind aspires to do.
West Covina Youth Council gives every teenager, age 14-18, the opportunity to contribute to their community, through volunteerism and through active discussions that address challenges they are facing and efforts to enhance the quality of their lives. Youth Council is a fun and simple way to earn volunteer hours for school; colleges are always drawn towards the students who are well-rounded and play an active role not only on their school campus but their community.
Goals of the Youth Council:
You can become a member by completing the Youth Council Participation Waiver Form and attend an upcoming meeting.
The Youth Council is supervised by an adult representative of the Community Services Department, with meetings held on the last Tuesday of the month from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., in the Community Room outside the City Council Chambers (First Floor) of City Hall, unless otherwise announced.
