The West Covina Fire Department (WCFD) is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to promote this year's Fire Prevention Week campaign, "Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere," which works to educate the public about basic but essential ways to quickly and safely escape a home fire. To learn more about this year's campaign, please visit the NFPA website (here).
On Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, please join us at a free open house at Fire Station No. 2 (2441 E. Cortez Street). During the open house, WCFD personnel will demonstrate various life saving techniques and share fire prevention resources while local vendors provide additional information related to fire prevention messages. The open house is free and available for the community to participate. The WCFD Explorer program will sell food as a fundraiser. During the open house, the community will be asked to judge poster contest submissions from local 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes. To learn more about the open house, please contact Fire Administration at (626) 939-8824.
