KIDS' BOOK CLUBKids in grades 4 to 6 are invited to join the Kids' Book Club on the first Saturday of every month at 11:00 AM to talk about books & enjoy tasty treats. Each month, we will discuss a different book. Copies of the books are available for check-out in the Children's Department.

PARENT CHILD WORKSHOPS
AT WEST COVINA LIBRARYWest Covina Library presents Parent/Child Workshops, a free five-week series for children ages 1 to 4 and their parents or caregivers. Siblings up to 5 years old are also welcome.
The series will be held every Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 PM beginning February 5th through March 5th. Children and parents will have fun, play, and learn with toys, books, and art activities. Parents will also get useful ideas and information from guest speakers such as a speech therapist and a dental health professional and enjoy a circle time filled with songs and rhymes. These workshops are free, but space is limited, so please sign up with the Children's Department.

Homework Help at West Covina LibraryNeed help with homework? Try the West Covina Library Homework Center. Caring and trained staff are available to assist children in their efforts to successfully complete homework assignments. Help is available for students in 3rd through 6th grade for all subjects. The Homework Center is free.

Saturday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PMIf you can't get to the library, homework help is also available for free online with the program Live Homework Help. Students in Kindergarten through 12th grade as well as first-year college students can connect to live tutors for 20-minute one-on-one chat sessions in math, science, social studies, and English. This service is available in English and Spanish and is free at the Library or from any computer using a library card. Visit the website (
http://www.librarytutor.org/) to connect. The Library's website also features free online databases with access to full-text articles from magazines, reference books, and more.
Live Homework Help Hours:
1:00 PM - 12:00 Midnight, every dayPrograms for FamiliesStorytime for Little Ones (children birth to age 5) and their caregivers is held in the Children's Room on Mondays at 11:00 AM. This program features age-appropriate books, stories, songs, fingerplays, and art projects and lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
Pajama Storytime, held in the Children's Room on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM, features stories, songs, art projects, and more fun for the whole family. Pajamas and teddy bears are welcome!
Family Play Days are held in the community room on the second Friday of the month at 10:00 AM. In this program, families with children birth to age 5 are invited to join in imaginative play, music, and other activities that encourage pre-reading skills in young children.

Programs for Young Adults/TeensEach month, the Library offers events for Young Adults/Teens (ages 12 - 18), including video gaming, board and card games, movies, a book club, and art projects.
In addition to these events, the Teen Advisory Board meets every month. This group is open to anyone aged 12 - 18 who is interested in giving input on library services and materials, including coming up with new programs for teens. This is a great way to get those community service hours while having fun - and eating snacks!
