The City of West Covina continues to monitor the public health situation associated with COVID-19 and is taking necessary precautions due to the heighten concerns over the spread of COVID-19.  

As the health and safety of our residents is of paramount importance, the City of West Covina has closed City Hall to the public and suspended all City-sponsored events until further notice.  In addition, City facilities have been temporary closed.  Please note the City will continue to operate.  For more information please visit the City’s webpage: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

CITY OF WEST COVINA CORTEZ PARK COMMUNITY & SENIOR CENTER

CLOSED DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS OVER COVID-19

 

WEST COVINA, CA, MARCH 12, 2020 – Due to the recent concerns surrounding COVID-19, and the Los Angeles County declaring a State of Emergency due to the Coronavirus the City of West Covina Public Services Department has announced the closure of the Cortez Park Community & Senior Center as a health, security and safety precaution of our older adult population and community members.

 

Although the Cortez Park Community and Senior Center will be closed effective Thursday, March 12, 2020 for a minimum of two weeks regular participants of the Elderly Nutrition Meal Program are encouraged to pick-up a box lunch Monday-Friday between the hours of 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

 

All programming including Mt. San Antonio College Older Adult Classes, paid fee classes, excursions, and services will be cancelled until further notice.

 

Older Adult classes offered at the Cameron Community Center and Shadow Oak will be also be cancelled.

 

As information and updates become available to the public the city will be providing updates to the community via social media and through the city website. Please follow the city social media pages at @westcovinacity and or visit www.westcovina.org for the latest news. Seniors without access to internet are encouraged to call the senior center at (626) 331-5366 between the hours of 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for updates.
