West Covina City Manager Declares Local Emergency to safeguard against Coronavirus
WEST COVINA, CA, March 16, 2020 – West Covina City Manager David N. Carmany, acting in the capacity of Director of Emergency Services under Chapter 8 of the West Covina Municipal Code has declared a local emergency due the Novel Coronaviruses disease (COVID-19).
The March 17, 2020, City Council meeting will be open to the public but to better protect public health and safety it is recommended that public comments be submitted electronically to City_clerk@westcovina.org. All comments received by 6:30 PM on March 17 will be read aloud and distributed to the City Council.
The City Council will be asked to ratify the proclamation at the March 17 meeting. The Mayor, City Council and the entire leadership team is keeping up-to-date through our local, state and federal partners to be sure the public is aware of the COVID-19 situation.
