Dario Castellanos grew up in West Covina and attended local schools such as Mesa Elementary, Sierra Vista Middle School, and South Hills High School. He spent much of his childhood involved in West Covina sports including baseball at Walmerado Park and basketball, soccer, and tennis at Edgewood Park. Since Dario began working, the majority of his jobs have been in West Covina. His work history includes being an instructional aide for the West Covina Unified School District at Orangewood Elementary, a lifeguard at the West Covina municipal pool, and service advisor at Norm Reeves Honda West Covina.
After graduating from South Hills High School, Dario attended and graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a B.S. in Finance, Real Estate, and Law. He continued in his academic career and obtained his Master’s in Business and Finance and Management from the University of La Verne. In 2015 he established Vine Residence LLC, a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly. Dario’s city involvement goes beyond City Council. Prior to being elected, he served as a West Covina Planning Commissioner for 5 years. He is also an active member of the Covina Rotary Club and The Greater West Covina Business Association.
Dario’s goals for the city include enhancing public safety and making sure all residents feel safe and have access to the services they deserve, fully analyzing expenses to create a sustainable budget, and making West Covina more business friendly.
